The Taco Tug is a small-group boat tour out of Crown Bay Marina, St. Thomas — a restored 1986 U.S. Navy Motor Whaleboat turned into the most fun ride to the water's best stops. Just 12 guests, four hours, zero crowds.
We start at Honeymoon Beach on Water Island, where you'll snorkel with sea turtles in calm, clear water, grab a drink at Dinghy's Beach Bar, or just float. Then we cruise to Lime Out, the famous floating taco bar anchored in turquoise water — swim up, order tacos and cocktails, and soak in the kind of afternoon that doesn't feel real until you're in it.
Drinks are included onboard the whole way. Snorkel gear, noodles, and floats are provided. All you bring is a towel and a good attitude.
Cruising into St. Thomas for the day? The Taco Tug is built for port days — Crown Bay Marina is a quick, cheap taxi from the cruise dock, and we get you back with time to spare before your ship leaves.

She wasn't always slinging tacos.
The Taco Tug is a 1986 Navy Mk 11 Motor Whaleboat, originally built in upstate New York and put to work the hard way — she served aboard several U.S. Navy ships over the course of her career, built tough and built to last.
When her Navy days were done, she retired to South Florida for a quieter life as a private family boat. But paradise was calling. We shipped her down to St. Thomas and gave her a whole new purpose — and a full refit to match: all new running gear, a rebuilt driveline, a complete rewire, and a brand-new Nanni T4.40 engine. Everything that makes her run is new. Everything that gives her character is original.
Today she does the best job on the island. Every trip you take on The Taco Tug is a ride on a genuine piece of maritime history — with better snacks. There's nothing else like her in St. Thomas.

Yes — it's one of the best port-day trips on the island, and we plan around ship schedules. Let us know your departure time when you book and we'll make sure you're back with time to spare.
We depart from Crown Bay Marina, a short, inexpensive taxi ride from both the Havensight (WICO) and Crown Bay cruise docks — usually around 10–15 minutes.
The trip runs four hours on the water. Build in taxi time each way plus the standard buffer before your ship's all-aboard. If your timing's tight, message us before booking and we'll tell you straight whether it works.
Drinks onboard, snorkel gear, noodles, and floats. Tacos and cocktails at Lime Out are available for purchase when we get there.
The boat departs from Crown Bay Marina. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time for check-in.

A towel if needed, reef-safe sunscreen (no spray types), and cash for tipping your captain. Space is limited — please no large bags.
To reach Limeout, you'll need to swim a couple hundred feet. Noodles are provided, but the crew won't swim you back and forth — please be ready to swim on your own. If you can't or prefer not to, tacos can be ordered and delivered right to the boat!
Yes! Most of the boat is covered with plenty of room to cool off.
Sodas, water, beer, and a rotating cocktail are available. There's plenty of cooler space if you'd like to bring your own drinks.
Standard gratuity is 20% for a job well done.
Mason was absolutely an amazing guide! We loved hearing the history of the island and the history behind how he began his business. His story truly represents that dreams can come true! We saw a lot of turtles, ate at the floating taco bar (so fun), and stopped to snorkel for a bit.
If you are in St. Thomas, this is one tour you must do!!
So much fun! Captain Mason first and foremost maintains safety protocols. He worked to meet each persons needs. Providing noodles or other floatation device for all levels of swimmers. The cooler was well stocked. We loved Honeymoon Beach. The snorkeling was good, the water calm and clear. We had plenty of time to enjoy the water, beach, and if you wanted a drink at Dinghy's. L

This was the highlight of our whole trip. Snorkeling with turtles, drinks on board, and a crew that genuinely loves what they do. Smooth ride out and back, no seasickness even for our shakiest sailor.
